This prayer comes at a time in my life where my faith is my anchor. An Anchor keeping me from drowning in worries and stress after being downsized from my position at a magazine publishing company that was going through major budget cuts.
My hope is that this prayer will help raise your spirit, bring you hope and God willing, a great job.
Write it out on your own journal, paper, napkin, whatever is close to you and keep it long after you find your dream job, your new career or just to past it on to someone who will be looking for work, as you are now.
Prayer for the Unemployed
" O Saint Joseph, I pray to you for I am out of work, for I want to work by earning my living and supporting my family.
You who are the patron of workers, grant that unemployment may vanish from my rank, for I will put my strength, ability in serving my fellow men and women and earn a just salary.
You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders.
Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions; may each and everyone have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood.
Grand that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help under privileged countries. Amen."
